स्वर्ग क्या है ? WHAT ARE HEAVEN AND HELL? – Shri Basudeba Mishra
What is heaven – SWARGAH (स्वर्गः)? There is no proof that heaven is a material place where God resides. In fact, the term God (देवाः – दिव्यत्येनेनेति, दिवुँ क्रीडाविजिगीषाव्यवहारद्युतिस्तुतिमोदमदस्वप्नकान्तिग॒तिषु॑) is not understood properly. It is not a Superman or Super being, as there is no proof for such a belief. The attributes of God can be explained otherwise scientifically than superstitious belief. According to Vedas, they are 33 classes (कोटि) of God – DEVAAH, which are quantum particles (त्रयस्त्रिंशत् वै देवाः). Heaven is the epicenter of a vibration that typically propagates as a pressure wave, through transmission mediums that are capable of reception and their perception by the brain (स्वरिति – गै + कः, गै॒ शब्दे॑, कचँ॒ बन्ध॑ने). It is something external, though perceived internally – like form. This is possible only in the quantum world. Hence there can be no “place” called heaven, because quantum particles do not have precise positions. Thus, if we have to describe a “place” called heaven, we can refer to a source of quantum particles.
The most common source of quantum particles are seen in an atom. The electronic arrangements of atoms has seven orbits (shells) called K, L, M, N, O, P, Q. Each of these Shells have four Subshells (orbitals – अहर्गणाः, अह्ना गणः, अहँ व्या॑प्तौ गतौ च) called s, p, d, f. Some scientists who like fantasy, talk of higher orbitals, but like extra-dimensions, they are non-existent. These four orbitals are micro equivalents of 1) Earth (पृथ्वी), 2) the intermediate space between the Earth and the Sun (अन्तरिक्ष – अन्तरा क्षान्तं भवति), 3) the Sun (द्यौः) and 4) the heliosheath (अस्ति वै चतुर्थो देवलोक आपः, It is negatively charged like electrons – योषा वा आपः – शतपथब्राह्मणम् -1-1-1). The seven orbits are micro equivalents of the seven LOKA that which is separately visible as one unit (सप्तलोकाः – लोक्यते इति, लोकृँ॒ दर्श॑ने). These are: 1) 1) Earth (भूर्लोकः), 2) the intermediate space between the Earth and the Sun (भुवर्लोकः), 3) the Sun (द्यौर्लोकः) and 4) the interstellar space (महर्लोकः), 5) the Galaxy (जनर्लोकः), 6) the intergalactic space (तपर्लोकः) and 7) the galactic center (सत्यम् लोकः). If we take into consideration the heliosheath and its equivalent at the end of our galaxy, the number becomes nine. These are called the NINE HEAVENS (नव देवस्वर्गाः).
The seven orbitals can contain a maximum of 2, 8, 18, 32, 32, 18 and 8 electrons respectively. If we look at their arrangement, they appear like the picture below.

As we can see, they contain 7s, 5p, 3d and 1 f or a total of 16 orbitals. Thereafter, their arrangement reverses. This leads to the proton-neutron conversion that leads to stability of the atoms and molecules and thus, creation of the material universe. Hence, the 17th orbital (अहर्गणः) is called YUPAH or pivot (यूपः). Since this is responsible for creation, it is called PRAJAPATIH (प्रजापतिः). This propels the n-p chain in a cycle (सम्वत्सरो वै प्रजापतिः – शतपथब्राह्मणम् – 2-3-3-18). After the 17th orbital (सप्तदशो वै प्रजापतिः), the sequence reverses till another 16 orbitals in the reverse order, making a total of 33 orbitals. These are the 33 quantum states (त्रयस्त्रिंशत् वै देवाः) according to the Vedas (श्रु॒ष्टी॒वानो॒ हि दा॒शुषे॑ दे॒वा अ॑ग्ने॒ विचे॑तसः । तान्रो॑हिदश्व गिर्वण॒स्त्रय॑स्त्रिंशत॒मा व॑ह ॥ ॥ ऋग्वेदः 1-45-2).
Of these, the orbitals (अहर्गणः) from the 22nd to 33rd (corresponding to down quark) only change to up quark. Thus, they are called the new orbitals (नूतन अहर्गणः) while the 1 to 12 orbitals are called old orbitals (पुराण अहर्गणः) to differentiate from the former. The 4 orbitals on both sides of 17th to 20th and 22nd to 25th orbitals including the 21st orbital are the NINE HEAVENS (नव देवस्वर्गाः) described above. Further details are not being discussed here.
When we see a snake and become terrified, the cause of our fear – the snake – is outside, away from us. But the effect is seen inside of our body – adrenaline flows furiously. But this is possible only if we had a similar previous encounter and our memory records a repulsive experience. We recollect the memory and respond accordingly. Similarly, when the pressure wave propagates through transmission mediums and are perceived by the brain, if it is harmonious, we call it heaven. If it is not harmonious, but repulsive, we call it hell. Thus, heaven and hell are relative concepts only without a physical manifestation.
Destruction is the action or process of fragmenting something to pieces, so that it no longer exists in its former shape or cannot be repaired to bring back its original form. We can create something similar by using its components, but we cannot recreate it. Recreation is an activity in discretionary time for enjoyment, amusement, or pleasure. It may include creating something similar. Quantum particles evolve in time. But that time follows universal rules – not discretionary time. Hence, heaven cannot be recreated or destroyed.
